FEBRUARY 22, 2008We are preparing to face many new challenges in the coming years. We extend our thanks to you for your participation and support of the FHHS Alumni Association. Your continued support and participation of alumni events, meetings and functions; as well as your donations will be needed to meet the needs of the students and faculty at Fairmont Heights High School during the coming years. Please continue to support the Annual Reunion Dance. This is our primary source of funds for student scholarships. Become a member of the FHHS Alumni Association, and plan to participate in the upcoming elections. Join a Committee and and help with the day to day operation of your association. SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FOR 2006
Thanks to all who attended FHHSAA's 17th Annual Reunion Dance in April 2006, and to those who contributed to the scholarship fund, making it possible to give $3,000.00 in scholarship to the following Fairmont Heights High School graduates:

* Deborah Camara - $500.00 > Microbiology @ University of MD, Eastern Shore
* Ebony Johnson - $500.00 > Criminal Justice @ Central Pennsylvania College

Thanks to all who attended FHHSAA's 18th Annual Reunion Dance in April 2007, and to those who contributed so generously to the scholarship fund, making it possible to give $4,000.00 in Scholarship to the following Fairmont Heights High School graduates:

* Shakir Manners - $1,000.00 > Digital Arts & Design @ Morgan State University

SCHOLARSHIP FUND DONATIONS
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL DONATIONS for the scholarship fund are tax deductible. All Fairmont Heights High School Alumni Association (FHHSAA) sponsored events raise funds for FHHS student scholarships.
You can now contribute to the G. James Gholson Endowment Fund through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
The G. James Gholson Endowment Fund for Fairmont is a member of the Institute for Black Charities, which represents a large number of non-profit, community-based organizations under the CFC.

The Endowment Fund was created in honor of G. James Gholson; a master teacher and administrator, and an advocate for the children of Prince George's County public schools. Mr. Gholson served as principal of Fairmont Heights High School from 1950 to 1969 and had an enduring influence on the lives of thousands of students. In recognition of his commitment to educational excellence, our goal is to create an endowment of $50,000.00, which will be used to provide scholarships to exceptional students.
